After graduating from Georgia State University with a degree in Accounting, Robel started several ventures in e-commerce and technology. 

In 2014, Robel noticed that technology developments lagged in vocational schools compared to traditional universities. With this theory, Robel founded an ed-tech firm that provided high-tech solutions for vocational schools. The company experienced three years of rapid growth and was eventually acquired in a private deal by a European holding company. 

After selling his company, Robel jumped into the finance world by creating Getaneh Global, a private equity firm. Wholly funded by Robel, Getaneh Global has invested in emerging tech and commodities in South Korea, Brazil, and India.
